Hi,
My name is Kari and I will be graduating from nursing school with my ADN in May. For those of you who have already taken the NCLEX how long did you study for it? Weeks, months? I know the sooner after I graduate probably the better so everything is still fresh in my mind, but I want to make sure I'm 100% prepared. Thanks!

Your thinking is correct – the fresher things are in your mind, the better your chances of passing NCLEX. If you feel you need more preparation, then it might be a good idea to buy a review book and/or take a review course. Like most students, you have a lot of knowledge about nursing but you may need practice answering NCLEX-style questions. In fact, the more practice you have answering NCLEX-style questions, the better prepared you will be for the big exam. NCSBN Learning Extension offers an online NCLEX-RN Review course. Fellow online students are there to provide support and offer study tips and an instructor is available to answer questions. Check it out at http://learningext.com/pages/home

Thanks both of you for your suggestions! I'm planning on taking the Hurst review that is being offered to us through school and then the exam soon to follow!

Hello, I am also a nursing student and will graduate May 2011 with a BSN. I was wondering, when looking back do you wish there was any one topic that you wished you had spent more time studying. Also, do you recomend a certain NCLEX review book?

I was wondering what topics on the NCLEX do you wish you would have studied more? Is there one thing that made you feel just as though you weren't prepared enough. The study books are huge and I am just afraid that I won't retain the information that I need to pass. Any recommendations on how to make the NCLEX testing preparation and testing less stressful?
